Lag Guidelines
- Create
- Avoid funnels if possible. They are generally bad due to implementation.
- Pipes can be laggy if they have more than 1 input and output and 1 pump.
- Do not build huge vanilla (dripstone + cauldron) lava farms, use hose pulley to pump from an infinite pool.
- Loose items
- Drills leave behind dropped items.
- Use cobblestone generators and/or drills on contraption with storage.
- Use AE2 annihilation planes
- Do not design farms throwing items around or dropping items.
- Do not drop items into lava using funnels, use chutes instead.
- Make sure that your contraption has enough storage.
- Entities
- Keep contraptions small.
- Any running contraption using block modifying machines (i.e drills, deployers, saws, etc. ) should not exceed a maximum of 10x10.
- Avoid excess mobs in a single location
- If your mobs are cramping or constantly bumping into each other, you have too many mobs.
- Chunk loading
- Chunk loading is not allowed.
- Chunk loaders are disabled (if there are any)
- Forceloaded chunks are an exception. They are only available for donators.
- Other
- DO not carry contraptions, AE2 cells or other items with large amount of NBT data in your inventory, backpack, shulker, etc.
- It lags the server.
- It can "book-ban" you.
Intentionally breaking these guidelines will result in stopping or potentially removing your farms/contraptions, and if repeated, it might result in a temporary ban.
These guidelines are in place to make the experience better for everyone.
Gameplay Rules
- Prevent builds and entities from causing server and client strain:
- Keep Create contraptions small; continuously running contraptions with block-modifying machines (e.g., drills, deployers, saws) should not exceed 10x10 blocks.
- Avoid having excessive mobs in one location. If mobs are cramping or bumping into each other, reduce their numbers.
- Use entity-clearing mechanisms (e.g., hoppers, chutes, funnels) to avoid item overflow.
- Ensure contraptions have sufficient storage to prevent item spills. Set them to shut off automatically or turn them off manually when storage is full.
- Prevent laggy methods for farming resources:
- Refrain from building massive dripstone-and-cauldron-based lava farms. Instead, use a Create hose pulley to pump lava from an infinite pool.
