Privacy Policy

Farwater is a community-run Minecraft server. This page explains what personal data we collect, why, and what your rights are. We keep it short and honest.

What we collect

When you sign in with Discord, we receive and store:

  • Your Discord ID, username and display name
  • Your Discord avatar
  • Your email address (Discord shares it because we request the email scope)
  • Discord login tokens, used only to keep your sign-in working

When you link a Minecraft account, we store:

  • Your Minecraft username and UUID (looked up from Mojang's public API)

When you apply for the whitelist, we store:

  • Your answers to the application questions
  • Your confirmation that you are 13 or older
  • The status of your application and which staff member reviewed it

We also store the role and rank you're assigned on the server.

Why we collect it

Only to run the community: to sign you in, to process and review whitelist applications, and to add approved players to our servers. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.

Third parties

  • Discord — sign-in and identity. See the Discord Privacy Policy.
  • Mojang / Minecraft — to resolve your username to a UUID.
  • mc-heads.net and minotar.net — to render Minecraft skins and avatars from your public UUID.

We only share what's needed for these to work (for example, your public Minecraft username).

Cookies & local storage

We don't use tracking cookies. After you sign in, a login token is stored in your browser's local storage so you stay logged in. Clearing your browser data signs you out.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as you have an account with us. You can ask us to delete your account and the data attached to it at any time.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To do so, reach out to us on our Discord server and we'll sort it out.

Age

You must be at least 13 years old to use Farwater, in line with Discord's minimum age.
